This suncatcher was a gift from my parents after years of coveting my mother's similar one. It hangs in my kitchen window, and I love watching the center crystal shoot rainbows all over my white cabinets in the morning when the sun breaks over the tops of the trees.

A few years ago, I bought a basketball-ish size glass fishbowl looking thing and a pillar candle for the center of it. It reminds me of the hurricane my grandmother used to keep on her kitchen table. I try to keep the bottom of it full of something roughly seasonal, though I admit that I am not so great at keeping them changing. These stars have been in there since July, but I thought they were okay to keep in there for most of the summer. I liked the way the light sparked off the holographic surfaces.

Half a year, can you believe it? I have to admit, I honestly didn't think I would actually make it this far and still be doing so well at this photo a day thing. I will admit, it is getting harder sometimes. How, after six months, can I be forgetting to take my camera with me *more* often? I'm trying to re-integrate that habit. Maybe I can be better about it for the second half of the year. Hope your year is going well so far!



This picture is from the day we had all the drilling done for the termite treatment. These two cats do NOT like each other, at all. They pretty much cannot get closer to each other than about 3 feet without Cleo (the orange one) freaking out (Bengal doesn't care much for her, either). But when the drilling started? All of the kitties were unhappy, and these two happily cohabitated on this 2x2 foot square of carpet under the end table for over an hour.



These little red flowers are each about the diameter of a nickel. I spotted them growing on the top of the concrete island near Artuzzi's, and they just looked so bright and cheery in the sunlight.



The morning of Luke's second swim lesson, we heard a deafening noise as we approached campus. As we crested the hill, we saw this *huge* freight helicopter delivering something to the roof of the Coca-Cola building. This photo does absolutely nothing to emphasize the scale of this thing, but trust me, it was gigantic. Luke was terribly impressed! LOL We didn't actually see what was being delivered, but the noise was just incredible. Everyone who was on foot had stopped and was looking up at it. You just couldn't help yourself.



I laugh every time I see this picture. I don't know what he was up to, but he absolutely had to have every one of these stuck in the waistband of his pajamas. He was limited only by the number of red sticks in his Tinkertoy kit. You should have seen him trying to walk around like that. It was too funny!



Ta-da! Found the earring back that I reported missing on 6/18. This is the photo I thought I was going to post on Thursday, 6/25. Then Michael Jackson died. Earring back suddenly seemed less relevant. Such is life. But I am very happy to be wearing my earrings again.

Not sure if you can really see this in the photo. I was trying to capture the tabs that I routinely have open on my browser. They are: Yahoo Mail, Gmail, Bloglines, Twitter, Facebook, the general chat forum of my favorite BB, and Google. It keeps me off the streets, LOL!

This is a make-up picture. I did remember that I hadn't taken one during the day of the 18th, but it was 11:30 PM, I was already in bed, and I had been feeling terrible all day. It just wasn't worth it. This does, however, represent something that I discovered that evening. Notice anything? Yeah, one of the backs is missing. The interesting thing about these is that the posts are threaded and the backs physically screw on. How do you lose one of those?! These are my good ruby earrings that I got nearly 3 years ago. I never take them off (mainly because I'm lazy about wearing/changing jewelry these days). I'm still baffled how it happened, and I can't find it anywhere. I hope the store sells replacements, though it might turn out to be cheaper to buy new ones.

This little bundle is my life. I don't carry a purse, just this and a cell phone, both of which go pretty much everywhere with me. The name keychain blinks on and off (I got it at the Georgia Aquarium, but I know they sell them other places), and the photo was taken this year at Downtown Disney Planet Hollywood. It replaced the previous photo of DH and me that was 8-9 years old (from our first ever Disney trip as a couple), long before Luke was ever in the picture, no pun intended. (And yes, I did erase the points from the keys, just in case. That's why they look funny.)

My friend Glenda posted a photo of her most recent temari, which inspired me to take a photo of the one I have sitting in the living room. It's on the mantle not because it matches the decor but because it is the one I finished most recently. It is one of the most complicated ones I have done, and it is the only one I have copied simply from a photo (no instructions provided). I'm very proud of it, though.

Luke, showing of Lego creation #2. I never did get a shot of his first solo Lego creation, and it has since gone on to life as a bat robot spaceship instead of its intended form. This one, however, is a robot speeder. What could be cooler than that?!

My grandmother used to make these card balls. She saved all the fronts of her Christmas cards and made beautiful geometric shapes from them. If the backs were gold or silver, she would save those, too. She made one completely from gold backs and had it hanging in her kitchen for as long as I can remember. When I got married, I requested she make one for me, and it now hangs in my kitchen, right above the sink, just the way hers did. Thanks, Granny.

And this was my Mother's Day gift from my parents, a new camera! (Notice the lovely fingerprint smudge at the top of the silver ring around the lens. Oops.) It is essentially the same camera I had, just a much newer model. I've had my previous camera for just over 2 years now, but it was not top of the line at the time. Dad gave Mom this one (same model but in gold) right before we went to Disney, and it was awesome. Thank you!

I am participating in Every Day in May, something I heard about from one of my favorite fun sources, Katie the Scrapbook Lady. I have decided to read for 20 minutes every day. I haven't really been reading much for the past several years, and I miss it. I hope this will help me re-establish the habit and remind me that it is better to read for even just 20 minutes than to not read at all (I used to only read when I had 1-2 hours minimum to devote to it; those were the days! LOL). So this is my first book, The Eight, by Katherine Neville. I expect to finish it before the end of the month and start (and maybe finish) a second one.

Ah, finally! I have been trying to get a picture of a train on the tracks near our house ever since this project started, and I finally managed to have the camera with me when one came along. It is definitely part of our daily life. We hear them frequently, though we don't notice it as much as visitors do. But it is actually pretty rare for us to see one. Maybe once a month, I guess. Our schedule and theirs just rarely overlap. Luke still gets excited when he hears it, though.
