Didn't really get the shot I wanted of these. It doesn't help that the honeysuckle is largely wilted. I've been smelling it for a good couple of weeks now, but I didn't think to take a photo until today (duh). That smell always reminds me that summer is coming. It would usually bloom right before school got out. If I could photograph its very distinct scent, I would post that instead.

Tigger decided to sit in my lap this evening (a very rare occurrence; all the cats usually prefer DH's lap, or chest, or ankles, or....) and then proceeded to take a very long bath. She looked so cute with her *bright* pink tongue on her black and white fur. I couldn't get the shot just clicking the shutter like usual, so I flipped it to continuous mode and took a whole bunch (around 2 frames per second with the flash, I think). This was the best I could do, but I think it turned out pretty well.

Odd picture, I know. It was one of my "dangit, it's 11:30, and I haven't taken a picture yet" pictures, but it is very representative of my day. Luke is driving us absolutely crazy with his behavior, and this morning, I had absolutely had it. He had plenty of chances, and he was just not cooperative. So no television this morning. None. Didn't even turn it on to check the weather (had checked it the previous night). Oh, the horror! LOL

I have no idea what got into Bengal tonight, but he decided to wallop me tonight. It's not deep, just deep enough to make to bleed. And burn, like a paper cut. Owie!

And this was my Mother's Day gift from my parents, a new camera! (Notice the lovely fingerprint smudge at the top of the silver ring around the lens. Oops.) It is essentially the same camera I had, just a much newer model. I've had my previous camera for just over 2 years now, but it was not top of the line at the time. Dad gave Mom this one (same model but in gold) right before we went to Disney, and it was awesome. Thank you!

The three Mother's Day related people that I spent Mother's Day Saturday with: my son (who made me a mom), my mom, and her mom.

Upon arriving at daycare to pick up Luke this afternoon, I was presented with this lovely card and flower. And yes, he wrote his own name at the top (in pencil, and the teacher traced over it in marker; the odd spiral at the end is his lower case e). Happy Mother's Day to me!

This was not a welcome component of my already not very good day. I found this swarm of what we believe to be termites in my foyer this afternoon!!! We are not happy.

This is Luke putting together his first Lego set, and by that, I mean "real" Legos, the small ones. He picked it out, and other than DH making sure he followed the steps in order (I think he may have had to help find one or two pieces, but that's it), Luke did it all by himself!

I am participating in Every Day in May, something I heard about from one of my favorite fun sources, Katie the Scrapbook Lady. I have decided to read for 20 minutes every day. I haven't really been reading much for the past several years, and I miss it. I hope this will help me re-establish the habit and remind me that it is better to read for even just 20 minutes than to not read at all (I used to only read when I had 1-2 hours minimum to devote to it; those were the days! LOL). So this is my first book, The Eight, by Katherine Neville. I expect to finish it before the end of the month and start (and maybe finish) a second one.

Happy Jedi Day! (May the Fourth be with you; yes, I had to have someone explain it to me, too.) Here is Luke, wearing his Sith t-shirt and "reading" the Star Wars story in the back of the new Lego Club Magazine.

Hey look! I did some digital scrapping for the first time in months. And if you look closely, you may see someone you know. If any of these little ones belong to you, know that copies of these are on their way to you in the mail right now.

Luke's first baseball game at Turner Field. Every other baseball game he has attended has been at Disney. He did visit Turner Field back in March of 2005 for "fan days," but there was no game (it was to show off their brand new hi-def screen and let fans tour the stadium for free), and he was only 5 months old. Other than the fact that it rained for 1.5 of the 2.5 hours we spent there, it went well, and he seemed to enjoy it.

Sorry, this was one of my "oh no, it's 11:45 PM, and I haven't taken a picture yet" shots: Tigger, doing her best Super Cat impression.
