Today was my last day at my current job, and fate decided to play a little joke. Just as I was logging in for my last day as an NEC employee, the power went out. This is what my "office" looked like for over 2 hours! Dear universe, I'm not really into practical jokes, thanks.

We're planning a LEGO Ninjago party for Luke's birthday this year. When I saw these "Ninajbread" men cookie cutters, and then found them on sale at Amazon for over 40% off, I simply had to have them! Now, to learn to make cookies that hold their shape when baked....

Was trying to get the camera to "see what I could see" with the street light making the white dogwood blooms nearly glow in the dawn light. Never quite got there, but this shot turned out okay.

Luke literally lost his tooth today at school. This is the note he wrote to the Tooth Fairy explaining the situation. Hopefully, she will be understanding. It's likely not the first time something like this has happened in her line of work.

These tiny flowers are appearing all over one tree in the back yard. It's the same tree whose leaves turn a deep red in the fall. No idea what kind of tree it is, but it's pretty.

We had a Sunday soccer game today (as well as a game yesterday). The first game of the season was rained out, so this was the make up. Luke was waiting during halftime to start his turn at goalie.

We had lunch at the 57th Fighter Group Restaurant today with my parents. They have a new plane out front! I'm not sure who enjoys watching the planes take off more, my son or my father.

First school project and diorama.  He had to pick an animal, write a 5 sentence report, and make a diorama of the animal in its natural habitat.Special thanks to my husband for taking photos before the project went to school, since I forgot to do it last night!

I somehow missed taking a photo for 3/22, so here is one from 3/20. Tigger is not usually our boxaholic kitty (that's Cleo), but she was obsessed with this one for some reason! I mean, it's not like we were using it for a school project or something, right?

Went to the ENT today. Spotted this wall clock as I was waiting to check out. Take a close look at the bottom right corner. That is the inside temperature. All of the doctors in this practice are not from the US, so they have the temperature set to Celsius instead of Fahrenheit.

I'm feeling very crafty today. Luke needed grass for his school project, and he didn't like any of our other suggestions like Easter grass, but he thought my suggestion of green rice sounded good. The hardest part was finding the liquid food coloring (not corn syrup based gel). Thank you, Pinterest, for the instructions!

We have one of the newly remodeled Wendy's near our house. I really like this light wall/sculpture inside; it fascinates me (I love tessellations!).

Okay, so I'm a day late, but here is my Irish Soda Bread (recipe from Plain Chicken). It was pretty tasty, though Luke didn't care for it. Sort of a cross between bread, a biscuit, and a pancake (if that makes any sense). It was very good with both regular butter and honey butter.

I kept trying to get a good shot of my nail polish (Let Me Go by Sinful Colors), but I never really managed. In indoor light, it looks silver-ish with iridescent flashes of green, but outside, it looks more lavender with flashes of blue. It's really interesting! A bit more sheer than I would like (took 3 coats and could have used a 4th), but still pretty.

This may be the best $8 we spent while on vacation. Luke has long complained that during car trips, the light keeps him awake. (We'll ignore the fact that he insists on having a dimmed lamp on in his bedroom.) He kept wanting to put the blanket over his head while in the car, and I wouldn't let him. I picked up this sleep mask when we had to make a quick drug store run. Luke has declared it "sort of awesome," and he slept like a rock both times he used it!

I think this may be my most favorite picture from our entire trip. Other than using the low-light camera on the low-light setting, there was no skill involved in taking this picture. I couldn't see the view screen at all; I simply pointed the camera behind me and hoped. All three pictures I took came out great. It was pure luck! As my dad likes to say, I'd rather be lucky than good.

I rarely need a map when we're at Disney, but I pulled one out to see if there were any places to eat in the area that I had forgotten about. Luke absolutely wanted to see the map, and he pointed out each and every place we had been that day with great accuracy! I was most impressed. (He clearly gets his sense of direction from my father and me, not from my husband! LOL)
