Around Christmas, I noticed the faceplate of my cell phone cover had cracked. It wasn't split all the way through, yet, but I went on and ordered a new one (right). The old blue one is really more "me", but I like the new one, too. It's nice to switch things up every now and then, and my old case was about a year old. I was also very happy to see that the new one is actually silvery, like the old one, not white like I thought from the picture online.

I received this text message around 6 PM Wednesday evening. Needless to say, any thought of taking a photo of the day flew right out of my head. I felt the most reasonable make up photo would be a picture of the thing that made me forget. Definitely the most significant moment of my day.

Luke is absolutely loving Pre-K so far. Playing dress-up is apparently one of his favorite things to do. We found him wearing this when we picked him up today. Looks like a civil engineer in the making to me! (Sorry for the quality; this was taken with DH's cell phone. The one day I didn't bring my camera!)

Tigger was diagnosed with Hepatic Lipidosis, which caused her to go into liver failure. The cure was for her to eat, so I stayed up late Thursday night cooking her favorite meal: chicken with dried beef. Here she is, eating some at the vet's office on Friday. Yay for eating!

Luke says he is reading "the planet book." An interesting perspective! (It's a road atlas.)

This month should be full of culture! (We're doing the Chinese Terra Cotta Warriors next weekend.) Today, we went to see the King Tut exhibit at the Civic Center (actually the old Sci-Trek museum right next to the Civic Center). DH and I went through first, just the two of us, at 1 PM. My parents followed at 3 PM with Luke (who got free admission since he is under 5). We met them at the entrance, took Luke on the tour at whatever speed he wanted to go (took DH and me an hour and 45 minutes; it took Luke about 20 minutes), and let my parents go through at their own speed. I don't think Luke was very impressed, but I hope that exposing him to things like this early will help him be more interested as he gets older. No cameras allowed, so this was taken with DH's phone.

Another cell phone picture for you, since I (again) forgot my camera. It's the simple things in life that bring the most pleasure, isn't it? Luke *loves* to have the windows down in the car. It gives him "funny hair" and makes him grin uncontrolably. Given that Atlanta only has two seasons (broiling and freezing) except for about 2 weeks of fall and 4 weeks of rainy spring each year, it's pretty rare for him, but we had a good day for it today. He is only allowed to stick his hand out the window, nothing else, but he doesn't care. It truly made his day.
