My parents asked if they should still come this weekend after the sad events of this week. I said yes, they have to, since I've already made the banana pudding for my father's birthday, and we don't need to eat it all by ourselves! Of course, I then realized that I made it a day earlier than I intended. Hope it isn't too soggy by the time they get here.

The 21st Century would like to welcome the Gaston family to the party! DH is on a business trip, so we tried Skype for the first time tonight. (Yes, I know.)

"Showing Nana" how to play a game on her phone (probably Candy Crush). He'll be too big to sit in her lap soon!

This summer, we are attempting to implement Family Movie Night. Tonight is our first try. Luke absolutely loves popcorn, so when I found these popcorn containers in the dollar bin at Target, I had to get them. Roll film!

Happy Birthday, Nana! Luke made these for you all by himself. He then came to me and asked me to take a picture and send it to you for your birthday.

Love these girls! These are my sort-of sisters-in-law (long story), C (left) and A (right). I love that they don't mind playing with Luke when we visit. Such great young ladies!

This was my husband's card to his mother for Mother's Day. Not only does it make me laugh, because it describes him perfectly and is a good reflection of the kind of humor his family enjoys, he also designs bridges for a living. He could not have found a more perfect card for her!

Our first trip to LEGOland Florida. When they say it is intended for 6-12 year olds, they mean it! Many of the rides felt very cramped for adults (even ones much less overweight than I am). It was fun, I'm glad we went, but I don't think we'll be going back any time soon.

This is my uncle with my cousin's daughter L. Today was Miss L's first birthday! We had a great time at her party, seeing several folks I haven't seen in years. Some, like my other cousin S, I hadn't seen in 5 years or more. She's had two more kids since then! We really need to do better about that.

My aunt and cousin are visiting from New Mexico. We had a big family get together at my uncle's house. Tyler decided to show Luke some tricks on a guitar. Luke had never handled one before; I think he's in love!

We finally made it to the Folkston Funnel this year! Been meaning to take Luke for quite some time. Only one train today, since it was the day after Thanksgiving, so we also had an impromptu picnic. Great afternoon!

We were looking through family photos over Labor Day weekend, some of them over 100 years old. This is a negative that was made from a print that we no longer have; thank goodness we have the negative! I took a photo of the negative, then inverted it, so we could see what it should look like. We believe this is my great-great-grandmother (my father's mother's father's mother). My brother thinks I look like her (and I do see his point a bit, especially when I was younger).
