Took Luke to the movie theater today (well, my parents did; DH and I went to see Spider-Man). This is actually his second film of the summer! And apparently, it was too sunny to look right at the camera.

My friend Melissa and her daughter Ursula came to visit today. I've known Melissa for at least 10 years now, probably more like 12. We met through an online community, but I have been lucky enough to actually get to meet/see her a few times IRL (in real life).

This was our "experiment" of the day: Balloon Ping-Pong. The original pin from Pinterest used paint stirrers, which I didn't have, so I used paper towel tubes instead. Now that we've used them, I do think they paint stirrers would be better, but Luke still had a blast with these.

Since I already had all of my stitching stuff out, I thought I would show off my scissor fobs. I actually have 2-3 other pair of scissors that aren't shown here (they're naked! LOL must make more fobs). I made the strawberry and acorn myself. I bought the beads and made the design for the top one, but my friend Shalini actually put it together for me. The center one was made by my friend Ginny, and the bottom one was made by my friend Annette. They all make me happy just looking at them!

Thought you might want to see the progress I've made. The picture on the left is the same one I posted on 6/30. Nine days later, and I've nearly finished the blue part of her dress! I haven't stitched that much in the past 5 years combined, I don't think. And yes, my hands, arms, and shoulders hurt to prove it!

This is the scene I was confronted with when I entered our bathroom this evening. This is *such* a Luke thing to do!! It took me forever to find the right angle for this picture to accurately convey what I was seeing. (And please forgive the very old, scratched, and stained sink basin.)

This was a (requested) gift a few years ago. It is a tote bag featuring my favorite ever Disney character: Maleficent, from Sleeping Beauty. I hate that it is red instead of purple like her usual color scheme, but I still love my bag!

My July 4th manicure. I painted each nail with the color (blue or red), then used scotch tape to cover the color and expose the wedge shape, which I then painted silver. I think it looks pretty spiffy for my first time using that technique!
